XB2002 - Second Assignment: Mulefa

We've been given our second assignment which is to create an organic creature known as a Mulefa which are from the books "His Dark Materials". It is a very interesting assignment as the creatures themselves are very very odd featuring an anatomy unlike an other animal I have come across.

Mulefas have  a diamond shaped skeleton with 1 leg at the front, 2 legs in the middle, and another leg at the back. They moved around by using a hard, wheel-like seed from a tree to move around similarly like a bike as they are able to almost drive around using their 2 middle legs to pick up speed.

However the most interesting thing about this assignment is that it is from a book, and so we have no reference images to help us and so we have a lot of freedom with this assignment in that we are able to design and model what each of us think it should look like.

The Mulefa are a weird and annoying creature to try to sketch simply because it is so alien as no animal is like this anatomy-wise (never mind the way in which it travels) and it is hard to draw it whilst it still resembling a natural creature.

Safe to say this will be annoying assignment and most likely something I will try to avoid for the time being and focus more on the Robot more.
